The Pittsburgh Pirates surrendered 16 runs and 19 hits Tuesday night, as they were blasted 16-5 by the Chicago White Sox. Not much could be said for the Pirates who started the game off on the right foot with a four run 2nd inning. After the White Sox regained the lead the following inning, Pittsburgh tied it up in the 4th. That didn't last long as Chicago went on to score 11 runs over the next four innings in route to their 16-5 victory. Ian Snell took the loss for the Pirates as he yielded 7 earned runs, 9 hits and 6 walks through only four innings of work. Game 2 of this 3 game series will take place Wednesday night.
