Kenny Rogers pitched seven solid innings Tuesday night as the Detroit Tigers went on the beat the San Francisco Giants 5-1. Rogers allowed only 5 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 2, to improve to 5-4 on the year. The game was tied throughout, that is until the 8th inning when the Tigers went ahead 2 runs and then tacked out 2 more in the 9th. Marcus Thames and Ryan Raburn homered for Detroit. It was Thames fifth consecutive game with a home run. Todd Jones was able to pitch out of his own bases loaded mess allowing the Tigers to even up the series. The series finale will take place Wednesday.
