Giants edge Cubs

The San Francisco Giants got a stellar pitching performance from Matt Cain as they beat the Cubs 2-1 Tuesday night. Cain pitched 8 dominant innings allowing only 2 hits, 3 walks and 0 runs while striking out 10. The Cubs made things interesting off closer Brian Wilson before falling short. Chicago had 3 hits in the 9th and scored their lone run but Wilson was able to strike out Ryan Theriot with two runners on to seal the victory. Fred Lewis scored both runs for San Francisco including stealing home. The Giants will look to take the series Wednesday.
