Braves 11 Giants 4

The San Francisco Giants had no answer for the Atlanta Braves pitching or hitting as they fell 11-4 Tuesday night.  Mike Hampton won his first game in almost three years as he shut the Giants down for seven innings.  San Francisco's pitching gave up 14 hits as they allowed the Braves to score three runs in the 5th and 7th innings, then five runs in the 9th. The Giants never really had a chance as the closest they came was when they cut the lead to 3-1 in the fifth inning.  Jonathan Sanchez took the loss for the Giants as he pitched five innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out five. Fred Lewis homered for San Francisco but that was the only bright spot on the night.  The Giants will look to bounce back and take the series finale Wednesday against the Braves.
