The Seattle Mariners got flat out dominated Tuesday night, as the Oakland Athletics beat them 2-0. Justin Duchscherer pitched a 2 hit complete game shutout to put the Mariners 20 games under .500. Oakland wasted no time scoring both of their runs in the first 2 innings. Carlos Silva suffered the tough loss as he pitched 8 innings allowing 7 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5. Silva is now 4-11 on the year with an era of 5.59. Richie Sexson and Miguel Cairo had the 2 hits for Seattle, who have dropped 3 games in a row. The Mariners will look to stop the skid when they take on the Athletics in game 3 of the 4 game series Wednesday night.
