The Texas Rangers were able to pull out a victory against one of the games best closers Tuesday night. They found themselves tied heading into the 9th inning against the New York Yankees with veteran closer Mariano Rivera on the mound. Ian Kinsler led off the inning with a double, he then stole third base and would score the following pitch on a single by Michael Young. Texas got solid pitching from their entire pitching staff, as starter Kevin Millwood lasted 5 innings allowing 5 hits, and 1 earned run while striking out 6. Frank Francisco picked up the win for the Rangers as he pitched a scoreless 8th and C.J. Wilson closed it out picking up his 19th save of the season. The Rangers will go for the sweep with the series finale on Wednesday.
