The Texas Rangers lost to their former teammate as the New York Yankees won 5-3 Wednesday night. Sidney Ponson who was on Texas earlier this year, pitched effectively as the Yankees stopped their two game losing streak. The Rangers went ahead early when Chris Davis drove in two runs in the 2nd inning. However, New York would go on to score in the next three innings and go ahead 5-2 against starter Tommy Hunter. Michael Young cut the lead to 5-3 on his 10th homer of the year in the sixth inning, but that was as close as Texas would come. Mariano Rivera closed it out for the Yankees as he has been dealing with back spasms. Texas will look to take 3 of 4 in the series, as the finale is Thursday night.
