Just like the Seattle Mariners, the year 2008 marks the Toronto Blue Jays’ 32nd season in the MLB. Outfielder Alex Rios is expected to perform like the All-Star that he is and make 2008 a bounce back year for the Toronto Blue Jays. To make this happen, the pressure is also on star pitcher A.J. Burnett to produce 10 wins or more. B.J. Ryan hopes to make a full comeback after recovering from an elbow ligament transfer surgery but pitching coach Brad Arnsberg is being both optimistic and cautious about his performance, not wanting to push the team’s luck by putting him in back-to-back games.
The outlook for the Jays looks good, especially with prospects such as outfielder Travis Snider, renowned for this endlessly powerful bat. Justin Jackson is also set to help the team win this season with his speedy bat swings and great acceleration. The Toronto Blue Jays are anxious to start the new season and are set to play against the NY Yankees on 31st March 2008, at the Yankee Stadium. Finally, the Toronto Blue Jays will play against the Baltimore Orioles in a final showdown at the end of the season. This exciting match will take place at Oriole Park at the Camden Yards on 28th September 2008.
The year 2007 has been a rather mediocre one for the Toronto Blue Jays, as they only managed to somewhat maintain their average results from the 2006 season. They finished 2007 with 3rd placing at the American League East, with a dismal 11 and 13 points behind the NY Yankees and the Boston Red Sox respectively. Hopefully 2008 will be a better one for the Toronto Blue Jays as they seek to best their own records and emerge triumphant.
