Nationals topped

The Washington Nationals could only muster one run Tuesday, as they lost 2-1 to the Minnesota Twins. Washington took the lead in the 3rd inning, going up 1-0. But Joe Mauer's 2 run homer proved to be too much in the 6th inning as that capped off the scoring in the game. Joe Lannan pitched well for Washington allowing only 2 earned runs but his offense could not provide any support after they fell behind. Both teams only had 5 hits as it was a pitchers duel. The Nationals will look for a little more support Wednesday in game two of the series.
