John Lannan seemed to be in total control Tuesday night but his Washington Nationals ended up losing 8-2 to the Colorado Rockies. Lannan held the Rockies in check through six innings, before he made the mistake which led to a pinch hit game tying home run from Ian Stewart. The Rockies then went on to explode for six runs in the 8th inning to put the game away. Lannan finished the night with seven innings pitched, five hits, two runs and two walks while striking out eight. It took three different Nationals pitchers to get out of the 8th inning as Luis Ayala and Charlie Manning each gave up three runs apeice. Washington will look to bounce back Wednesday night when they take on the Rockies game 3 of 4 in the series.
