Washington Nationals Gear Up for 2009

Outfielder Elijah Dukes is one of the most promising young players in the National League. Lastings Milledge, who came from the New York Mets in 2008, has proven himself not only to be a talented player, but also a strong team leader. In 2009 the Nationals are the youngest team in the MLB and they will bring great energy to the field. The additions of veteran players Adam Dunn and Scott Olsen will help to balance out the team. Adam Dunn was an All-Star in 2002 will be a strong presence at first base. His batting is as good as his fielding: last season in Arizona, he hit 40 homeruns and 100 RBIs. At first base, he will be a strong presence on this team. Pitcher Scott Olsen played four seasons in Florida and will give the starting rotation some needed strength with a 4.63 ERA. With these players, Washington has improved greatly compared to the 2008 season. Nationals opening day tickets are available for you to purchase today; you could be one of the 41,000 fans at Nationals Park on Monday, April 13^th against the Philadelphia Phillies.
