Trying to improve the results of the previous 2006 season, when the team finished second, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim has been making some important acquisitions. On June 2, 2007, the Angels activated outfielder Garret Anderson from the fifteen-day disabled list; and optioned left-handed pitcher Joe Saunders to Triple-A Salt Lake. A day earlier, the team recalled left-handed pitcher Joe Saunders from Salt Lake and optioned 1B Kendry Morales to Triple-A Salt Lake.
On May 9, 2007, Los Angeles optioned Brandon Wood to Triple-A Salt Lake as well as recalled infielder Matt Brown. On May 15, the Angels activated infielder Maicer Izturis from the fifteen-day disabled list; and optioned infielder Matt Brown to Triple-A Salt Lake. Another infielder, Maicer Izturis, was placed on fifteen-day disabled list, retroactive to May 21. The team also recalled infielder Howie Kendrick from his rehabilitation assignment and activated from the disbled list.
Currently, the Los Angeles Angels are first in the West Division of the American League with a high .621 (with 41 wins versus 25 losses), and 24-9 at home and 17-16 on the road.
