Car racing always invokes the memory of F1 racing and streamlined cars tearing down the raceway with thunderous applause and cheering from the audience. However, there are other types of car racing that are equally famous in the world. Stock racing is also a type of car racing that is famous in the United States of America. The Aaron's 312 is a race held by NASCAR and is one of its nationwide series of races. It is held at the Talladega Superspeedway. It is sponsored by Aaron's. The Aaron's 312 is a very famous 312 miles (500 kilometers) racing course.
This event was inaugurated as the longest race in the NASCAR series schedule. Kilometers are the rarest of all measurements of distance in American races. However, the Talladega Superspeedway was made to accommodate a 500 km race instead of miles as used in NASCAR. However, the race was changed into a 300 miles event in 1998 as a result of complaints by some fans. This was changed in 2002 as Aaron's took the title responsibility and the race was reinstalled as a 312 miles event.
There have been several winners in this historic race track like Jamie McMurray and Carl Edwards. Moreover, there have also been major wrecks in this racetrack. The most serious accident was in the year as it involved 30 cars in which 19 cars were eliminated from the race. In spite of all these virtues and vices, this particular race track is one of the most favorite in the nation.
