3M Performance 400 is the final NASCAR race of the season held at the Michigan International Speedway located in Brooklyn, Michigan. This race came into being in 1969 when it was run at a length of 600 miles. It was dropped to a 400 mile race soon after and is still run like this today. By 1973, new owners stopped running the NASCAR race and exchanged it for the IndyCar. The 2007 year saw changes again in the name of the race when it was changed to the 3 M Performance 400 as the 3 M company is the current sponsors.
