About the Golden Corral 500
NASCAR is back with the Golden Corral race ready to get your summer rolling. This
Nextel Cup race is held in Hampton, Georgia at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Originally set at 328
laps, a little less then 500 miles, was shortened in 1997 to 325 when the track was reconfigured.
This track used to be a created 1.522 mile oval but since the reconstruction the Atlanta Motor
Speedway is now a 1.54 mile quad-oval.
When the Atlanta Motor Speedway, which was originally the Atlanta International Raceway, made
it's first NASCAR debut in 1960, it was the seventh paved speedway that was more than a mile that
would host a cup race.
more Currently only three of the original seven are still running for NASCAR,
Daytona International, Lowe's Motor Speedway, and Darlington Raceway.
The average speed of a car in the Golden Corral is about 145.85 mph with a time of
three and a half hours. The race is held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in late October, when every
NASCAR fan is raring to see the final races of the season. The Golden Corral has held cup
winners like Bill Elliot, Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, Jimmie Johnson,
and most recently Carl Edwards.
So get to Georgia while the cars are still running and bring your Golden Corral
tickets with you. These boys have the "pedal to the metal" throughout the race to keep you
enthralled and jumping in your seats by the last 10 laps. NASCAR tickets are always guarenteed to
provide you the fast paced thrill you look for in all other sports. So grab your sweaters and get
ready to hear "racers start your engines."
