Dubbed the "World's Fastest Half Mile," the Bristol Motor Speedway has long stood as one of the most popular racetracks in the country. Notable for its steep banking and stadium seating, this Tennessee venue treats fans to a uniquely challenging course that tests even the most seasoned drivers. As you prepare to attend Nascar Sprint Cup Series - IRWIN Tools Night Race on August 23, be aware of the most important venue information with this Bristol Motor Speedway guide.
Bristol Motor Speedway Seating Information
Various grandstands offer seating closest to the track. These areas include Darrell Waltrip, The Allisons, David Pearson, Alan Kulwicki, Richard Petty, Yarborough, and Junior Johnson. There are also terrace levels connected to some of these areas: the Allison Terrace, Pearson Terrace, Kulwicki Terrace, Petty Terrace, Yarborough Terrace, and Johnson Terrace. Directly behind the Kulwicki Terrace is the Wallace Tower, while the Dale Earnhardt Terrace lies behind the Petty, Yarborough, and Johnson terraces. Surrounding the speedway at the highest level is a series of private suites.
Bristol Motor Speedway General Information
All fans are allowed to bring one carry-in item per person, so long as it is less than 14 inches in size. In addition to the carry-in item, fans in the grandstand areas can bring one cooler (14 inches or smaller) into the speedway, but glass containers are prohibited. For certain races, children 15 and under will be admitted for free.
Guests cannot bring the following items into the venue: bikes, skateboards, large coolers and bags, beach balls, noisemakers, stadium seats, folding chairs, strollers, and umbrellas.
All children must have a suite ticket to access the suite level. Note that the suite level does enforce a strict dress code, which bans tank and halter tops, swimsuits, and athletic shorts. Coolers and outside food and beverage are prohibited in the suite level.
Bristol Motor Speedway Parking Information
Parking lots at the venue are reserved for those with pre-purchased passes or state-issued permits. Overnight parking is not allowed in these lots. There may also be privately owned lots that open for parking during race weekends.
Two lots offer free parking off State Route 394 (Speedway Parking and Whitetop Creek Park lots), but these are not within walking distance of the venue. A complimentary shuttle service is provided.
Bristol Motor Speedway Camping Information
For certain races, camping on the Bristol Motor Speedway grounds may be permitted. There are three different areas for camping: the Medallion Motorcoach Community, the Landing Campground, and the Dragstrip Campground. These areas typically require a pre-paid permit for guests to stay on site. Keep in mind no open fires, golf carts, or ATV vehicles are permitted on the grounds.
A variety of public campgrounds are also available surrounding the racetrack; however, these campgrounds are not necessarily associated with the venue in any way.
Bristol Motor Speedway Gate Times
Gates for each day typically open when the first practice round of the day begins. Be sure to double check in the week before Nascar Sprint Cup Series - IRWIN Tools Night Race to verify the correct gate opening time.
Bristol Motor Speedway Accessibility
Wheelchair seating is offered in the areas of Earnhardt, Johnson, Yarborough, Pearson, and Waltrip. Accessible parking is typically available, but the guest services department strongly suggests arranging details directly with its office in advance. Elevators are on site, and guest services offers on-site transportation for guests who need assistance.
