2008 Sprint All Star Challenge Information

The Sprint All Star Race will be held this year at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. The time of the event will be May 16, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. New to the race this year are the changes in the name and the use of Roman numerals also in the name of the event. The new 2008 race will feature four 25 lap quarters to total 100 laps.

The Sprint All Star Race was called “The Winston” until the year 2004 when it was changed to the Nextel All Star Challenge. In 2007, it changed to be what it is now. The only racers allowed in the Sprint All Star Race is previous winners (drivers and owners) of the last season, current season, last ten winners of the event, and the champions of the Series in years past. A qualifying race is held consisting of 40 laps is held and those that either come in the lead or have the majority of votes will also be allowed to race.
