The Sharpie Mini 300 is a NASCAR Nationwide Series race. The Sharpie Mini 300 takes place at Bristol Motor Speedway. In 1982 the first Busch Series race at Bristol was won by Phil Parsons. That was a 150-lap race. The length of the race has been increased several times since then. In 1985 the race length was made 200 laps and in 1990 it was increased up to 250 laps. In 2006 was the last lap change when the lap's length was made about 300 laps.
The Sharpie Mini 300 race series is broadcasted on various television networks. This was done to heighten the popularity of the circuit. The Bristol food city 500 broadcast by the FOX broadcasting network was the first time any television network had covered the event. From 2004 to 2006 the Fox channel showed the race as the Nationwide/Cup Fox doubleheaders. Since 2007 the event started being aired on the ABC as a part of the ESPN2 new nationwide television series package.
