Boston Celtics Mid-Season UpdateThe Boston Celtics is a professional basketball team playing in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Currently the Celtics play at the TD Banknorth Garden Arena. The team’s mascot, the leprechaun of Irish folklore, represents Boston’s Irish-American heritage. In 2006 season, the team has seen many changes. Ainge decided to trade Blount, Davis, Banks, Justin Reed, and 2 second-round draft picks to the Minnesota Timberwolves team for forward Wally Szczerbiak and two centers, Michael Olowokandi and Dwayne Jones. The direction of the Boston Celtics was not at all happy about the changes introduced and is still very skeptical about the substitutes. Still Ainge is eager to continue the started rebuilding process of the team. Paul Pierce, who showed his best in 2005-2006 season, remains the Boston Celtics captain. Recently the team missed the 2006 playoffs with a 33-49 record. As of 2006, the Boston Celtics basketball team has never lost the 7th game of the NBA Finals.
