Nuggets Jan 07 Update In the 2005-2006 season, the Denver Nuggets won title to a weak Northwest division for the first time in eighteen years. This made the Nuggets the 3rd seed of the Western Conference playoffs. The team finished the previous season with .537%, which is a good result for Denver (44 wins versus 38 losses). On December 18, 2006, three team members, Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, and Nene were suspended by the NBA (fifteen, ten, and one game, respectively) for a fight that had occurred during the last minutes of a game against the New York Knicks a couple of days earlier. The fight was started by the Knicks rookie Mardy Collins. The following day the Denver traded Joe Smith, Andre Miller to the Philadelphia 76ers for Allen Iverson and Ivan McFarlin, thus landing Denver the top two scorers in the league (Anthony and Iverson).
