Los Angeles Lakers Background Information

With all the Laker's franchise history, the team holds 16 League Championships, 16 Conference championships, 33 Division Championships and 56 Playoff Appearances. Along with their tradition of winning, the team also had some of the best players in NBA history and still does to this day. Those players include Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich, Magic Johnson, Kereem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, Jerry West, Chick Hearn and Shaquille O’Neal (currently on the Phoenix Suns). The current Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a trip to the NBA Finals where they were beaten by the Boston Celtics in six games. The 2008-2009 Lakers will return with their star Kobe Bryant who continues to be arguably the best player in the NBA.
