Grizzlies Tickets Update - Jan 07

The Memphis Grizzlies have the longest losing streak in the playoffs with twelve losses. This makes three years in which the franchise has not won a playoff series, or even a single game. They have remained without victories in the playoffs during their short franchise history (from 1995 up to now).

Following the 2006 NBA Draft, Shane Battier was traded to Houston for their 1st round pick, Rudy Gay and Stromile Swift (the former Memphis Grizzly). He was the only player, who had played for Vancouver (before 2001 the franchise was named the Vancouver Grizzlies). When the team started the 2006-07 season with 6 wins in their first 30 games, the team’s head coach Fratello was fired (on December, 28, 2006) and replaced by Tony Barone, Sr. He was the Grizzlies' player personnel director and had never coached any of the NBA games. However, he was named conferences’ Coach of the Year thrice during his tenure.

The previous season was finished with steady 0.598% (49 wins versus 33 losses); however, the current season leaves much to be desired. Presently, the Memphis Grizzlies are only 0.237 (9 wins and 29 losses) with 7-12 at home and 2-17 on the road.

On January 13, 2007, the Memphis Grizzlies were once again defeated by the opponents, but this time the game was a complete fiasco. The Chicago Bulls beat the Grizzlies with 111-66. Ben Gordon racked up 24 points, Kirk Hinrich scored 20 points and 8 assists, and Luol Deng added 18 points more and thus led Chicago to a blowout win beat on Saturday night. It was probably the easiest victory of the season for the Chicago Bulls.
