Minnesota Timberwolves Season Update

In 2006, the Minnesota Timberwolves traded the team’s forward Wally Szczerbiak, two centers Dwayne Jones and Michael Olowokandi to the Boston Celtics for the forward/guard Ricky Davis, the center Mark Blount, the forward Justin Reed, and the guard Marcus Banks. Separately, the T-Wolves traded Nikoloz Tskitishvili to Phoenix. They also selected Brandon Roy in the 2006 NBA draft. However, later he was traded to Portland for Randy Foye. The results of the previous season are not at all high .402 (33 wins and 49 losses). However, the team is currently .531 this season.

Coached by Dwane Casey, the Minnesota Timberwolves smashed their rivals the Houston Rockets with 103-99 on January 7, 2007. Kevin Garnett led his team to the overtime win over the Rockets. Blount helped to ease the burden of his teammates by adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. After this intense game, the Minnesota T-Wolves are currently 17-15 with 11-5 at home and 6-10 on the road.

On January 8, 2007, forward Kevin Garnett from the Minnesota T-Wolves was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week for the games played from January 1 to 7. It became the first weekly honor for him during this season and the fifteenth in his career. Garnett managed to average 27.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and 5 assists during the games played during the previous week.
