Sun Devils Background Information

The Arizona State Sun Devils are the teams of Arizona State University. There are nine mens and eleven womens teams participating in the NCAA Pacific 10 Conference. Mens teams take part in basketball, baseball, football, cross country, golf and other competitions. Womens teams mainly compete in gymnastics, soccer, basketball and many more. Arizona State Sun Devils are known for some very notable athletic achievements. In particular, they won 129 national championships.

Among the most notable Arizona State Sun Devils basketball players were Byron Scott, Ike Diogu, and Eddie House. Ike Diogu became the PAC-10 Freshman of 2003. He was the tenth from the Arizona State Sun Devils who won this title. He was 2nd in scoring and 3rd in rebounding among all Pac-10 freshmen. Kevin Kruger, another prominent Arizona State Sun Devils basketball player, earned several Most Valuable Player honors as well as the PAC-10 honors.
