Former Syracuse defensive coordinator, Steve Russ, and Brian Knorr, assistant coach for the Air Force Academy, are fresh faces that you will see joining the staff for the 2008-2009 Wake Forest football season, hopefully aiding them to carry home the ACC Championship again. Jim Grobe was able to lead them to this championship in 2006, and they are hoping that it was not just a fluke, but the call to duty that they have been waiting on since he picked up the team in 2001, with 1970 being the only other year that they have brought home any conference championship title.

With Steve Russ being a former Air Force Academy graduate, as well as Steed Lobotzke and, of course, Brian Russ, the only school with more former Falcons on their coaching staff now will be the Air Force Academy itself in 2008. It is a rather odd record to hold, but hopefully one that will aid them in bringing home more beneficial on-field titles than in years past.
