Tradition for the Alabama Crimson Tide is a huge commitment towards honor. Perhaps former Alabama University President David Matthews described the tradition at Alabama best. He states that the Crimson Tide tradition is somewhat of a double-edged sword. It can be a burden, such as keeping your cool and showing class at all times, and persevering even when you don't think you can or feel like doing it. Truly, the Crimson Tide is one of the perennial powerhouse schools in the Southeastern Conference every year. While some schools may have only one successful program that grossly overshadows the other, basketball absolutely takes no backseats to football at Alabama.
