The Fresno State Bulldogs football team originated in 1921 and has since then become one of the premiere football programs in the nation. They have had several bowl appearances (winning 9) and several amazing historical teams. Of the most sensational, the 1985 undefeated team stands out as one of the greatest. The team went unbeaten that year, only tying once with Hawaii in a 24-24 final game score. This tie-game has led to one of the fiercest rivalries in Division I football. The Fresno State Bulldogs football program has also crafted some of the finest NFL talent ever to be seen. Some of the more mention-worthy players are Trent Dilfer (Superbowl champion, Baltimore Ravens) and Lorenzo Neal (3-time Pro-bowler, San Diego Chargers). However, of all the accomplishments Fresno State has had, they are still looking for that National Title. This year, you can bet they have their target set on it. Fresno State Basketball is every bit as formidable as is their football program. They, like their football team counterpart, have yet to win a National Title and that helps to keep a program hungry for victory. The basketball program is going to come out of the gates real fast this year and look to do quick damage to the power poll ranking system. They feel like they don't get the respect that they deserve and they want to take it out on their opponents. It is this underdog mentality that has produced many NBA caliber players and will help to keep moving the program forward.
