This sort of game extremely rare, so get your 2012 Georgetown Hoyas basketball tickets now and witness this iconic event live. The game will take place at Naval Station Mayport, off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida, on November 9th, college basketball's opening day.
All of the proceeds for the game will go to veterans' causes, including a transitional housing fund for servicemen returning from overseas deployment. The game marks the start of what should be a thrilling season for the Hoyas. Georgetown is projected to fit in the upper half of the Big East, and start out with a tough November schedule, highlighted the Gators showdown and an SEC-Big East Challenge home game versus Tennessee. The Hoyas will also participate in the Legends Classic, which will pit them against projected top-10 squads like Indiana, UCLA and Georgia. Despite the Challenges, Coach John Thompson III is sure to have the team ready to battle, and with recruits like SG D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, SF Jarion Henry, and C Bradley Hayes, they should be a formidable force.
