The countdown to March Madness is on, as conference play now dominates the 2012-13 Long Beach State basketball schedule leading up to the start of the postseason. The 49ers, who will be looking to capture a second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth, have played a wide range of opponents this year including marquee non-conference matchups against North Carolina, Syracuse, and UCLA. Such games proved to be great primers for the crucial Big West season, where the squad has raced out to a 4-1 start with wins over Pacific, Cal Poly, Hawaii, and Cal State Northridge.
In addition to the forthcoming ESPN Bracketbuster at Walter Pyramid on Feb. 23, the 49ers will host several more contest before the regular season comes to a close. Purchase 2012-13 Long Beach State basketball tickets from Vivid Seats, the Official Resale Marketplace for the 49ers, and reserve your place at showdowns against UC Irvine (1/26), UC Santa Barbara (1/30), Cal Poly (2/2), Cal State Fullerton (2/13), UC Riverside (2/16), and UC Davis (2/20). The top eight teams in the conference will compete in the Big West Tournament, which will go down March 14-16 in Anaheim, Calif., with the winner earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
