The buzz has been building since last March and at last the wait is nearly over. The 2013 Pac-12 Tournament is set to make its Las Vegas debut, March 13-16, when it takes over the MGM Grand Garden Arena for four thrilling days of live competition. Since 2002, the conference’s annual grand finale had been held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but the league opted to make the move to the desert instead, signing a three-year deal with the Sin City venue through 2015.
Just as in previous years, many different purchasing options will be available for fans, including Pac-12 Tournament tickets for all four days, or passes for an individual session. Last year’s attendees saw the Colorado Buffaloes claim their first-ever tournament title, knocking off the perennial powerhouse, Arizona Wildcats, in a 53-51 thriller. The victory ended the two-year run of the Washington Huskies, who had secured the conference’s NCAA Tournament automatic bids in 2010 and 2011. With four Pac-12 Tournament titles, Arizona has won the most of any team, though not since 2002, while UCLA and Washington each have three, Oregon has claimed two, and Colorado, Stanford, and USC have all captured one apiece.
