Orange NCAA Basketball

Syracuse Orange basketball team represents Syracuse University. The University is a current member of NCAA Division I and the Big East Conference. The team's mascot is Otto the Orange. Previously the team members were referred to as the Orangemen and Orangewomen. The men's basketball team plays its home games in the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse University first compiled a basketball team in 1899. From the very beginning it became prominent, and the team established itself a national champion in 1918 and 1926. In 1926 the team was coached by the outstanding Lew Andreas and raised a Basketball Hall of Famer Vic Hanson.
