The 2013 West Coast Conference Tournament is scheduled to play from March 6th through March 9th at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, with the championship game to be played on March 11th. All nine schools in the conference will get to compete, and though the seeding has yet to be solidified, it’s looking pretty clear that the Gonzaga Bulldogs are headed towards the top spot. Gonzaga is ranked No. 2 in the country for the first time in school history, and could very well see themselves as the top seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. However, there are still a few games to play, and Saint Mary’s is hot on their trail. Brigham Young and Santa Clara could also make their way into top spots for the conference tourney by season’s end.
The West Coast Tournament ended in thrilling fashion last season, as Saint Mary’s was able to defeat Gonzaga in overtime, 78-74. The Gaels’ starting shooting guard, Matthew Dellavedova, was able to come away with the tournament MVP honors, and he’ll be back in hopes of repeating the effort this season. Overall, the tournament championship was the third overall for Saint Mary’s, which ties them with Pepperdine for second all-time but still trails Gonzaga (11). Whenever an automatic bid into March Madness can be claimed, you better believe that the schools will play with the utmost intensity, so make sure to purchase your 2013 West Coast Conference Tournament tickets today to experience it all live.
