The MAC Conference is an Athletic Conference of colleges, whose members are mainly from the Mid-Western United States. Nine of the colleges are situated in Ohio And Michigan. The Mid-American Conference headquarters is in Cleveland (Ohio). The MAC is the best among all others NCAA Division I A conferences.

The Michigan Mid-American Conference trophy is given to one of the Michigan universities if it beats the other two colleges in the same kind of sports and in the same sports season. The Trophy was invented in 2005, its made of crystal. The creator was the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame.

The Central Michigan Chippewas received the football trophy in 2006 after having beaten EMU (Eastern Michigan University) and WMU (Western Michigan University). The next basketball prize will be given in March 2007 after the game between EMU and CMU.

The present head coach is Brian Kelly, their home stadium is the Kelly/Shorts Stadium, which is situated in Mount Pleasant. The stadium is mainly used for American football. The stadium was opened in 1972 and now seats more than thirty thousand people (though originally there were only twenty thousand seats). In 1997 ten thousand more seats were added. The first winner of the stadium was Illinois State University. Firstly, the stadium was titled R.Perry Shorts of Saginaw (he was the donor of this project). Only in June 1983 the stadium was renamed. It was decided to include the name of a famous football coach (Kenneth Bill Kelly) whose team was really successful.

The Central Michigan Chippewas also participated in Michigan Collegiate Conference (1927-1930) and Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (1950-1969). The team took part in California (1990) and Las Vegas (1994) Bowl games.

Among the Central Michigan Chippewas players one can pick out several HFL players: Eric Ghiaciuc, Tony Humphrey, Cullen Jenkins, Ray Bentley (retired NFL player).

The Central Michigan Chippewas have lots of fans, friends who have always supported their favorite team and bought the tickets for the games to see their wonderful play. They even organized a special fan club. Their major mission is, of course, supportive. The support is always needed as the costs of building and maintaining athletics programs are constantly rising. And its not an easy task to create a program, as it needs not only good professional athletes but also first-class coaches, the newest facilities to train the athletes, leading department staff; qualified instructions, guidance from the head coached and former champions, plus advisors to help the sportsmen to get the best education. If your support the teams in their sport career come to the stadium and show then your love by simply buying a ticket. You are welcome to purchase the tickets online through our fast and secure server.
