For many years the Cotton Bowl game was broadcast on CBS (with Lindsey Nelson), in the mid 90s it was transmitted on NBC. Currently this right has got FOX Network (with Brad Sham on the Westwood one Radio).

The founder of the Cotton Bowl is J. Curtis Sanford. The Bowls trophy has been changed for many times during the last almost seventy years. Today it is called Field Scovell Trophy to commemorate a person who was known as Mr. Cotton Bowl.

There is AT&T Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame, which honors many wonderful athletes, who have made a great contribution in the traditions and the prestige at the Cotton Bowl games. There is a special voting committee, which chooses the future participants of the Bowl. This committee comprises state and national media representatives and the members of the CBAA Board of Directors. They are elected each year to appoint the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame class. The criterion for the selection is one – the performance of the nominees. Each member of the Hall of Fame is awarded with a personalized bronze statuette. It is a figure of a 1930s football player, the decade when the Cotton Bowl was established.

The next game will be held on the first of January, Monday, 2007 at the Cotton Stadium. The teams will be selected on the third of December 2006.
