The founder of the Cotton Bowl is J. Curtis Sanford. The Bowls trophy has been changed for many times during the last almost seventy years. Today it is called Field Scovell Trophy to commemorate a person who was known as Mr. Cotton Bowl.

The criterion for the selection is one – the performance of the nominees. Each member of the Hall of Fame is awarded with a personalized bronze statuette. It is a figure of a 1930s football player, the decade when the Cotton Bowl was established.

The next game will be held on the first of January, Monday, 2007 at the Cotton Stadium. The teams will be selected on the third of December 2006.
