2008 Northwestern Wildcats Season Information
The Northwestern Wildcats, from Illinois, are in the Big Ten Conference, and have been since their origin. In 1999, the Wildcats ended their season with a 3-8 record and ranked 73rd out of 114 teams. This season record has proven to be their second worst. In 2000, the Wildcats improved greatly, finishing their season with an 8-4 record. This season proved to be their best in 10 years. The Wildcats ranked 18th out of 116 teams.
In 2001, the Wildcats only won four games and lost seven. In 2002, the team had their worst season. Winning only three games and losing nine, the Wildcats ranked 84th out of 117 teams. In 2003 and 2004, the team won six games and lost seven in 2003 and six in 2004. In 2005, the Wildcats improved slightly, upping their winning game number to seven after losing only five games. The 2006 season was much like the one in 2001, having won only four games and losing eight. Finally in 2007, the Wildcats met their 2004 record of 6-6. At the end of the season, the team ranked 69th out of 122 teams. For the 2008 season, head Coach Pat Fitzgerald hopes that his team will be able to rekindle the success they had in 2000
