2008 Iowa Hawkeyes Season InformationThe Iowa Hawkeyes nine years ago did not have the best start; however, over the years their team has grown successfully. In 1999, the Hawkeyes had their worst season, ending with a record of 1-10, giving them a ranking of 98th out of 114 teams. In 2000 the team improved a little, winning three out of 12 games. The 2001 season was very successful compared to the last 2. The Hawkeyes finished with a 7-5 record and a ranking of 43rd of 117 teams. The 2002 season definitely proved to be the Iowa Hawkeyes best season. The team won a total of 11 games, only losing two. This gave them their highest ranking of 6th out of 117. In the next two seasons, the Hawkeyes continued successfully, winning 10 games and losing three in 2003, and winning 10 games and losing two in 2004. Unfortunately, the Hawkeyes did not exactly carry on with this success because in 2005 the team ended with a 7-5 record. In 2006 and 2007, the Hawkeyes finished the seasons with a 6-6 record. The Iowa Hawkeyes head Coach Kirk Ferentz, hopes that the additions to the Hawkeyes' staff and team will enhance improvement for the 2008 season. |
