Despite the loss of several seniors to graduation, the 2012 Minnesota Golden Gophers return a key player in senior quarterback, MarQueis Gray, who was voted team MVP last season. The highlight of the year came in the season finale against Illinois, when Gray set a school record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a game with 174.
