2008 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Season InformationSince their creation, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has always been part of an Independent Conference. In 1999, the team ended with a 5-7 record, giving them a ranking of 43rd out of 117 teams. In 2000, the team improved their previous record, winning nine games and losing only three. In 2001, the Irish finished with a 5-6 record. The year 2002 became a very successful season. The Fighting Irish won ten games, having loss only three.
