Bob Stoops, head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners, wasted little time in offering Landry Jones, the 36th overall prospect rated by ESPN.com, a starting quarterback position for the 2009 season. They also landed themselves three new linebackers, among other needs. The have bulked up the line as well, considering the size of some of their picks. Overall Stoops is very pleased with the outcome of the scouting done over the past year, and is very hopeful for the success of the new face of the Oklahoma Sooners.
Starting his career as a Sooner in 1999, he turned their game around immediately with seven game wins and their first trip to a bowl game in four years. He has not slowed down the pace either, having lead the Sooners to success in the Big 12 Championships for 2007, as well as the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in January of 2008, there seems to be no stopping Stoops, now a two time Walter Camp Coach of the Year winner.
