Gerald Ford Stadium Seating Information
Gerald Ford Stadium can hold over 32,000 fans when the Mustangs take on the Houston. Seating begins along the SMU sideline with Section 100 and continues around the venue clockwise to Section 128 on the opponent sideline. The upper bowl level consists of Sections 200-228. A general admission lawn makes up one end of the venue, where fans can sit, stand, and cheer as they please.
Gerald Ford Stadium General Information
Due to heightened security, everyone entering the stadium will be subject to a search and bag check. The following items will not be permitted inside the venue: bottles, cans, food, beverages, umbrellas, lasers, noise makers, footballs, and other items that can be thrown. There is a strict no re-entry policy at football games, but smoking is permitted in the south end zone in the concourse.
There is no alcohol or drinking permitted inside the stadium, but there are full-service concessions with other food and drinks for sale throughout. Banners and signs are permitted but they cannot be hung from the stadium in any way or obstruct the view of any other fans. Signs on sticks and poles are not allowed.
Gerald Ford Stadium Parking Information
There are cash lots, credential parking, and free parking throughout the grounds near Gerald Ford Stadium. The reserved parking and credential parking lots can be purchased ahead of time from SMU, and are located in Lots A-H, while the cash lots are J-Y. Bus and RV parking is located in Lot Q. Free parking is located on the east campus, including the Expressway Tower, Dart Station and Central Expressway.
Public transportation is also available on the DART rail, which is serviced by the orange, red and blue lines. There will also be a game day shuttle prior to the game and ending one hour after the game ends.
Gerald Ford Stadium Tailgating Information
Tailgating is permitted, but only at select parking lots at Gerald Ford Stadium. The Boulevard is the main tailgating area in addition to Boulevard Northeast, East, West and Dallas Hall. The Boulevard is open most of the day, and is located on Bishop Boulevard just west of Gerald Ford Stadium. The tailgating lots include one tailgating spot in addition to the parking, which may be in a remote lot elsewhere.
Fans that want to tailgate must adhere to several rules to keep other tailgaters safe. Parking must be pre-purchased and all tailgating and barbeque equipment must be contained inside the purchased area. Tents are allowed, but only in the areas approved for tailgating, and they must not obstruct the traffic route or pedestrians. Tents cannot have stakes, they must be red, blue or white, 10'x10' or smaller, and they must be fire-resistant.
Drinking is allowed in the proper tailgating lots, but no open containers, kegs, glass, or liquor will be allowed. Only wine and beer will be permitted on the premises. If you are planning on grilling at the game, keep in mind that electric and propane grills can be used in all tailgating areas, but charcoal grills are only allowed on The Boulevard. Catering is allowed, but must be a SMU-preferred caterer.

Gates will generally open 90 minutes before the game is scheduled to begin.
Gerald Ford Stadium Accessibility
Accessible seating for those in wheelchairs and anyone with limited mobility is available on the entrance level between the upper and lower bowls in the stadium. Accessible parking is available for anyone with a handicap placard, license plate, or parking pass in Lot K and all other credentialed lots (A-J). There will also be a limited number of golf carts on site to help escort anyone in need of assistance.
