2007 will become the twelfth season for the Baltimore Ravens team in terms of their participation in the National Football League. The team intends to upgrade their 13-3 record from the last year together with the head coach Brian Billick. The coach has trained the team for 9 years already, and this year he will work closely with offensive coordinator Rick Neuheisel and defensive coordinator Rex Ryan.
The changes in the team during the off-season mainly concern Jamal Lewis, who decided to leave for the Cleveland Browns. One more player Adalius Thomas left the Baltimore Ravens and signed an agreement with the New England Patriots. The player Ovie Mughelliwas (fullback) also signed with another team, namely the Atlanta Falcons.
The team traded a third and seventh round draft pick in the 2007 draft and a third round pick in 2008 for Willis McGahee. During the process of draft picks, the team also obtained Auburn offensive Ben Grubbs as well as Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith.
On September 10, a season opening Monday Night competition against Cincinnati will be held. It will become the 1st out of three Monday Night matches during this season and one of four games broadcast nationally, which includes a preseason match shown by the NBC channel.
