The last 2006 season for the franchise Dallas Cowboys ended in one of the most miserable ways, the team shortly stayed in the NFC playoffs. Hopefully, in this 2007 season the Cowboys will try to improve their score and experience more luck than last year. The changes in the structure of the franchise may be beneficial for the Cowboys.
The coaching staff of the team has been changed; right now, the Cowboys are led by ex-Chargers defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. He intends to improve the tactics of the team’s defense.
The coach Bill Parcells did not work long with the franchise, therefore, the team did not reach the result it could. In order to be more successful this year, Phillips needs not to deviate too much from the path the team was going, when Parcells was still here. Otherwise, the inconsistency of the tactics may lead to a temporary recession of productivity.
The team finally decided to take care of 2 most important factors, namely free safety and offensive line. For that they contracted expert players Ken Hamlin and Leonard Davis. They also signed Brad Johnson, who will take the place of Drew Bledsoe as the backup QB.
The Dallas Cowboys drafted tight end Adam Bergen from the Cardinals and player on offense Jim Molinaro from the Redskins.
Other draft picks of the team in 2007 are Anthony Spencer (Purdue), James Marten, (Boston College), Isaiah Stanback (Washington), Doug Free (Northern Illinois), Nick Folk (Arizona),Deon Anderson (UConn), Courtney Brown (Cal Poly), and Alan Ball (Illinois).
Phillips has got a serious attacking style, which will probably affect the defense line. The Cowboys are expected to be more progressive this season.
