Despite being founded in 1919, it lost the ability to take part in the Super Bowl that same year because of the financial difficulties. Nevertheless, the Packers managed to get it back in 1922 when Lambeau found new sponsors.
The team scored its first success in 1929 when it won the national football championship. Then when the Green Bay Packers got a brilliant player Don Hutson they were getting on well and won 1936, 1939, 1944 champions. But when Hutson resigned they falled on evil days again.
Then Vince Lombardi came to the Green Bay Packers the business turned for the better. The 1960s is believed to be the most productive and successful period for the team, and the Packers, having won five championships, were considered to be the leading team in the NFL.
1966 is one of the most successful years in the team's career this year of stable game-playing met with success and they won the Super Bowl, having defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the final game. 1967 was a remarkable year for the Green Bay Packers as well because of their third victorious championship in succession. For the Packers this year is also considered to be the end of Lombardi's era in the history of the team.
Another 25 years in the Green Bay Packers history after Lombardi left were the run of bad luck and they didn't manage to achieve more or less sound success during this period. Every their attempt to get to the top turned out to conspicuous failure.
1992 was another turning point and it proved to be a sudden change for the better when the team had a 9-7 record, finally the Packers managed to scrape through the starting matches and reach the NFL playoffs.
The Green Bay Packers are an outstanding team, which made its history in the NFL, having set a record of 12 Super Bowl championships.
