Tony Dungy brings his high-powered offense back in 2004 with a chip on their
shoulder. The Indianapolis Colts have gotten to the playoffs every year for the
past 5 years only to falter under pressure. No one feels it more than stud
quarter back Peyton Manning. Dubbed as one of the smartest quarterbacks in the
league, with an arm to accompany the brain, Manning has to make his mark in the
2004 post season to secure his legacy as one of the best quarter backs ever, in
that respect, hes not alone. Taking some of the pressure of will be wide
receiver Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Each receiver is a big play threat
over the top and a reliable target in the middle of the field. Edgerrin James
return in 2004 healthy and ready to re-gain his status as a top running back in
the NFL. An ultra back that can catch, block and run inside and out, the Edge
will help Manning draw defenses into the line of scrimmage, opening up the deep
ball to Wayne and Harrison.
The brightest spot on the defense is pass
rusher Dwight Freeny. Coming into his third year in the NFL, Freeny poses a
legitimate threat to the quarterbacks blind side, drawing double teams, which
should be able to free up the pass rush from the left side of the defensive
line. Strong safety Mike Doss heads up the secondary that should be able to pick
off quarterback and hand the ball back to Dungys high octane offense.
RCA Dome -
Indianapolis, IN
The RCA dome first attracted the Colts
to Indianapolis in 1983 after they were dissatisfied with the conditions of
Memorial stadium in Baltimore, the teams original home. The 60,000-seat dome
stadium is the perfect place for a passing offense to air it out, negating the
unforgiving weather conditions of the winter in the mid-west. The huge big
screen offers replays for the fans and ticket holders can choose from grandstand
seating, club level seats or luxury suites. Get you Indianapolis Colts tickets
fast or these thoroughbreds may run past you faster than the crack of a jockeys
whip.
