Seattle Seahawks - What to look forward to this season

The Seattle Seahawks team has been the winner of the NFC West for 3 consecutive years and they may well stay on top of the division in 2007. Although the team suffered from several injuries a season ago, the key personnel have gained more experience and it is high time they won this season. Most likely, the potential of the Seattle Seahawks will be reached in the NFC side of the playoffs.

This time the offense will surely be enhanced as Matt Hasselbeck, who received an injury last season, has already made three Pro Bowls and led this team into the Super Bowl previously. Shaun Alexander is now 30 and is unlikely to return to his MVP status of a couple years ago. Deion Branch and DJ Hackett will have the receiving duties this year and are expected to show decent results. Nate Burleson was not a great help in 2006, however Seattle thinks he will do much better this year as well. Jeremy Stevens has left the team for Tampa Bay, while Marcus Pollard remains a strong pass catcher at tight end.

The front four got a lot of assistance when the team contracted Patrick Kerney from Atlanta. He and Marcus Tubbs up front can keep the heat off a serious group of linebackers. Lofa Tatupu and Julian Peterson are quite capable Pro Bowlers, who know their job.

Leroy Hill is the other outside man and he intends to make a name for himself after the nagging injury in 2006. The secondary has not been very productive lately, that is why Jim Mora was brought in to support the group. Brian Russell and Deon Grant are the new safeties, who will be working with him. The corner position also faced an injury last season, but there is a lot of potential there with Josh Wilson adding the depth.

8 wins are more likely for the team than 10 wins this year.
