During the Calgary Flames' rush to the Stanley Cup finals of 2004, most of the Flames fans, who attended the hockey games wore a red jersey with the famous flaming “C” on it. Many of those who did not have a red jersey wore a red shirt. Thus, the “C of Red” became the nickname for the fans during the Calgary Flames' playoff run. This trend of an attendance dressed in red continued throughout the 2006-07 season as well.
