Feb 2007 Update - Colorado Avalanche

During the offseason, Joe Sakic was resigned to a one-year deal. Later, at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, the club traded Alex Tanguay to their rival Calgary for Jordan Leopold. Rob Blake left for his former Los Angeles Kings, and forward Dan Hinote signed with the St. Louis Blues and left Sakic and Milan Hejduk (they are the only two members, who remained since the 2001 Cup team). Sakic is the only player left from the time the team was playing in Quebec (though Hejduk was drafted by the Nordiques). However, prospect Paul Stastny, son of Nordiques legend Peter Stastny, also provides a link to the past of the franchise.

The Colorado Avalanche recorded their 500th home sellout in Denver on January 20, 2007, when they recorded a home sellout percentage (both playoffs and regular season) of 97 per cent (500 out of 515).
