The Minnesota Wild is a NHL hockey team, representing Saint Paul, Minnesota. It appeared in the NHL only six years ago. The team plays in the Northwest division. Its logo is depicted as the teams name in the discs of green, red and harvest gold (the teams official colors).
In the first season the Minnesota Wild didnt make great strides and the only remarkable event was the game with the Dallas Stars, which they won by a lopsided score of 6-0.
During 2001-2002 season the team fell behind other teams and it was only the last. Nevertheless, the Minnesota Wild with such players as Gaborik were gradually making headway.
The following season the Minnesota Wild got on well and they made their first playoffs (which turned out to be the only one up to the present moment). They got to the Western Conference Finals, defeated there the Colorado Avalanche due to Andrew Brunette, who put a conclusive end in this fight in overtime. Then in the semi-final games the Minnesota Wild gained the victory over the Vancouver Canucks. But, unfortunately, then the team lost to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim with a slashing score of 4-0, though the Wild set a sort of record when twice they won with great success in a seven-game series, although there was a thread to be swept in game 5.
In 2003-2004 the Minnesota Wild lacked new fresh players. By the way, two leading players Pascal Dupuis and Gaborik were held out. It was a real run of bad luck and it obviously affected the teams results. The Wild didnt manage to score success despite all their efforts, they all appeared to be feeble (though the last games can not be considered unsuccessful the team won 5 of them). So that season the team couldnt make the playoffs.
The Minnesota Wilds determined to change their business somehow, so a decision to refresh the staff was made and the team sold away such players as Brad Bombardir and Jim Dowd, who played in this team since the very founding of it.
The next season was missed because of lockout.
2005-2006 season was a conspicuos failure for the Wild. In the Northwest Division they placed only after the Vancouver team. At the same time its players held a few records: Gaborik, having scored 37 goals, broke franchise record for goals and Brian Rolston with 79 goals set new total-goal record of the Minnesota Wild.
