The Nashville Predators represents Neshville, Tennessee. The team has been playing in the NHL Central Division since 1998. Its official colors are navy blue, silver and gold. The teams logo carries a saber-toothed cat - an extinct animal, after which the team got its name, found in Nashville during 1971 excavation. The team is often called the Preds. In 2006 the Nashville Predators started the Stanley Cup Finals on a merry note. In the quarterfinals they met with the San Jose Sharks and won the day with 4-3 score. In this match Paul Kariya was especially noticeble for his brilliant passes.

The Preds failed the next game, when they were defeated by the Sharks in the penalty shoot-out. Then followed another loss the team was beaten by the Sharks in another match. After the game the Skarks gained a 2-1 advantage.

Game 4 was of no relieve to the Preds because they lost again and the gap grew.

This fight with the Skarks ended on a sad note when the Nashville Predators lost to them in the final game with a 2-1 score. The only goal, played this match, was scored by Paul Kariya.
