Ottowa Senators Feb 2007 Season Update

The Ottawa Senators' beginning of the 2006-07 season was characterized by a tense struggle to reach 0.500, which is an even win-loss ratio.

2007 began with some changes to the team’s rooster. The Senators acquired center Mike Comrie from the Coyotes for prospect Alexei Kaigorodov. However, the Senators needed another centre, as they had lost Vermette, Spezza, and Fisher for quite a long period of time, and they were going to lose Kaigorodov, who had been suspended for refusing an assignment to the AHL's Binghamton Senators after being sent down, instead preferring to play in Russia. His suspension will continue, which means he will not be paid until he returns to the National Hockey League.

Heatley was the representative for Ottawa in the 2007 All-Star game for the East, and Andrej Meszaros and Patrick Eaves went to participate in the NHL YoungStars competition.
